Thousands of businesses and employees have access free professional courses thanks to the launch of EC Online, a dedicated platform from Eastleigh College.
EC Online has been launched following successful pilots and trials that Eastleigh College initiated to meet the immediate needs of organisations and employees alike as a result of the pandemic.
Courses support both professional and personal development, and cover business and management, education, childcare, adult care, general health and many other areas. The vast majority are free of charge and can be completed at a time and place to suit each individual.
Eastleigh College’s Contracts and Adult Education Budget Manager, Steve Harris, said: “People have a flexible approach to their learning and we’ve run this type of course for a number of years, although the popularity for online grew tremendously during the first lockdown.”
Jo Landon, Head of Adult and Online Learning at Eastleigh College, added: “Increased demand over the last year has led us to increase the number of subjects covered as well as introduce higher qualification levels so that those who want to can progress and fulfil their ambitions.”
Once enrolled, learners complete their learning and assessment on the virtual platform with the added benefit of having a dedicated online trainer who provides support and feedback throughout the training.
Jo added: “Some people complete the course at work to boost their skillset as part of their continued professional development, while others log in from home or do the vocational courses alongside other learning.
“Flexibility is the key, fitting around each person’s commitments and lifestyle and allowing them to start a course at any time, and study in their own time, at their own pace.”
