Ringwood based construction company Knights Brown has completed the new double storey pavilion clubhouse, which is part of the multi-million-pound redevelopment at Long Lane, now known as Ringwood Community Hub.
The new pavilion, which was officially opened at a special event on 1 November, provides facilities for the support of local grassroots clubs. It accommodates a café, changing facilities, a balcony overlooking the pitch and back-of-house functions.
The project has been boosted by a grant from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation, as well as additional funding from New Forest District Council and Ringwood and District Round Table
The significant investment into the Long Lane development represents an exciting opportunity for the town of Ringwood to have a sporting and social facility for its residents and surrounding area where the site will continue to be the home of all teams (girls and boys) associated with Ringwood Town FC and enable AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust to run a number of community programmes for a variety of participants, from development sessions to Walking football.
Divisional Director of Knights Brown, Mike Crook said:
“It’s been a pleasure for Knights Brown to be the main contractor on this design and build project.
We were keen to partner with AFC Bournemouth and Ringwood Town FC, as Knights Brown have been based in Ringwood since the company was formed in 1953.
The new clubhouse is a welcoming space that has really transformed the area and will be a vibrant centre piece for our community.”
Ringwood Town Mayor, Councillor Rae Frederick, comments:
“I’m delighted that Ringwood Town Council has been able to play its part in securing these new football facilities for the town. The improved facilities will provide more opportunities for local people of all ages and abilities to be involved with sport.
I am so grateful to our key partners; Ringwood Town Football Club, AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust, the Football Foundation, New Forest District Council, Hampshire FA and many others and to the lead contractors; Knights Brown, TigerTurf and McArdle Sport-Tec.”
