The Snows fourth, annual conference took place at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl Southampton and as is the custom, revealed the winner of its coveted Manager of the Year award.
Presenting the award to Greg Jones, Sales Manager of Snows Peugeot Basingstoke, Snows Chairman and CEO Stephen Snow, said:
“Greg has dealt with everything that has been thrown at him this year, achieving all KPIs in sales and 100 percent customer satisfaction, both in new and used car sales ratings, which is no mean feat. Greg, you truly deserve this award. Congratulations.”
Family-owned Snows operates 50 dealerships from 29 locations across southern England. The company is the AM100 2019’s 45th-placed franchise retail group by turnover – with revenues of £420m achieved in 2019.
Greg said:
“It’s a great honour to receive this award and it comes as a result of a lot of hard work and support from my colleagues at Peugeot Basingstoke who have consistently performed since Snows took over the dealership three years ago. The Snows annual conference is a combination of analysis, performance and industry insights under the banner of ‘One Team One Vision’.
There was a special focus this year on the mantra ‘Data Drives Success’ and this was reflected in the engaging presentation Big Data in the Automotive Industry by Nick King, Insight Director at AutoTrader.
David George, Director MINI UK & Ireland, answered delegates’ questions on the imminent roll-out of the new MINI Electric.
Stephen Snow also announced he would be heading up a new Executive Board of Directors to oversee activity, strategic planning and decision making, with Neil McCue and Alex Domone becoming Chief Operating Officers and Shawn Gates, Chief Financial Officer.
In addition to Allen Scott, Director of Marketing, PR & Communications there are three, newly-appointed directors: Melanie Durrans – Human Resources, Richard Betts – Corporate Sales & Fleet, and Robert Newbold – Finance and Insurance including FCA Compliance – whom will also report into the Executive Board to enable more swift and effective decision-making within the business.
Four new General Managers: Mark Toms, Mike Maidment, Jon Oakley and Dale Vaughan, have also been appointed. With Rob Newton, Graham Simpson, Michael Ewen and Graham Davis, all taking on new Franchise After Sales Management roles.
Stephen added:
“The new management structure will mean swift, effective decision making across the business. I’m extremely pleased that many of our homegrown talent have stepped up to take on management responsibilities as we move into 2020. This new framework, coupled with the continuing dedication and hard work of all our people will enable Snows to deliver on our aspirations in 2020.”
The six other people nominated for Sales Manager of the Year were: Steve Churchill, Service manager at Snows BMW Portsmouth, Gareth Taylor, Aftersales Manager at Snows Toyota Southampton, Jamie Davies, Sales Manager at Snows Toyota Exeter, Nicola Townsend, Corporate Sales Manager at Snows Mercedes-Benz Vans Exeter, Sharna Bennett, Database Marketing Manager and Michele Challis, Financial Controller Snows Business Holdings.
