The Boat Show features everything the leisure marine industry has to offer. Ranging from paddleboards to superyachts, and all the products and services you need to enjoy life in, on or around the water – you’ll find it at the show.
In 2021 they launched the show with a brand-new layout which comprised of brand new sector-specific zones. This proved very successful and the zones are here to stay for 2022!

Lesley Robinson, CEO – British Marine
Lesley was appointed CEO of British Marine in 2018. Prior to joining, Lesley was Managing Director at MDL Marinas, Europe’s leading Marina operator. Previous to this, her commercial career has spanned leisure, consumer goods, media and IT and she was also a Director of the Money Advice Service, leading corporate services and heading up the Service’s debt advice programme in the UK.
At British Marine, Lesley is an executive main board director with specific responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation, working in conjunction with both board and members, and its execution through her team at Marine House.
She is also Vice Chair and Trustee of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, a Trustee of Ocean Youth Trust South and a Non-Executive Director of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives. Lesley is a qualified chartered accountant by background.
Lee Peck, Managing Director – Lee Peck Media (Host)
Lee’s career spans more than 30 years as a journalist, broadcaster and PR professional. This rich combination provides clients with an unrivalled insight into the fast changing media landscape.
Key deliverables from Lee include brokering deals with journalists; developing PR strategies; scripting and directing videos through to media training, crisis management and event management.
He is also in demand for management consultancy and motivational speaking. Lee is recognised by the European Union as an international media expert for his work on an anti-corruption behavioural campaign in Latvia. Understanding the value of collaboration, Lee has worked with and alongside some of the best creative agencies in the world.
Chris Rees, Director – ReesLeisure
Chris Rees is the Director of ReesLeisure – organisers of the Southampton and Portsmouth Sailing Weeks. Founded in 2017 the events includes a Parade of Sail, on the water activities as well as a sailing regatta.
Chris is a keen sailor and recently completed the latest Fastnet campaign.
Brian Johnson, UK Business Development Director – BAE Systems
Brian is the UK Business Development Director at BAE Systems Maritime and works in Portsmouth Naval Base.
He brings a wealth of private sector experience to his role, with over 20 years’ experience in the Marine and Maritime sector at organisations such as Thales, Marconi and the aforementioned BAE Systems.
Brian was the Chair of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership from 2020 – 2022, stepping down to take up the position of the first Chair of the Solent Freeport. He is also on the Board of the Society of Maritime Industries.
Fran Collins, CEO – Red Funnel
Fran Collins joined Red Funnel as CEO in June 2018, having spent over 20 years in the merchant marine industry.
Fran’s early career was at sea where she qualified with both Deck and Engineer licences, serving worldwide on various vessel types, particularly oil & gas, cable lay & repair vessels and ferries. In 2002 she joined Condor Ferries as Chief Officer, and subsequently became Condor’s first female Master.
In 2008 Fran transferred into shore-based management, and since then has continued to develop her career through several executive roles which have included operational management, customer services and the delivery of strategic projects. Fran is committed to improving safety and risk management throughout the industry. She is passionate about ensuring that shipping is sustainable for the future by encouraging young people to consider careers in the maritime field, and on the transition to zero emissions and efficient operation by supporting the development and adoption of new and emerging technologies.
Alongside her role as CEO at Red Funnel, Fran also provides support to Saga Cruises as a Non-Executive Director as well as being an active member of a number of industry bodies at a strategic level, including the DfT’s Clean Maritime Council and the IoW Chamber of Commerce. She is also a Group B reservist officer in the British Army, holding the rank of Lt Col in the Staff Corps, 77th Brigade, which provides strategic level advice to a variety of areas within Defence and Government.
In November 2019 Fran received the Merchant Navy Medal for her contribution to the shipping industry and in 2020 was honoured to be nominated and sworn into Trinity House’s Younger Brethren.
