Fareham Borough Council is inviting residents to have their say on options for the regeneration of the town centre at two upcoming Community Action Team (CAT) meetings:
- 13 March at 7pm, Gateway Church, 171-173 West Street, PO16 0EF
- 19 March at 7pm, Waypoint Church, 255 Hunts Pond Road, PO14 4PG
These meetings follow a series of successful public engagement activities, which have helped the Council identify the strengths and weaknesses of the town centre currently, alongside opportunities for improvement.
These will be presented to attendees at the CAT meetings, alongside options under consideration. There will then be time for attendees to tell us their favoured options as well as to ask any questions they may have.
Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “I know that Fareham residents are passionate about our town centre. The Council is kickstarting regeneration through £30m of investment in Fareham Live, new car parking and the purchase of Fareham Shopping Centre. This investment has also enabled us to develop a range of possible regeneration interventions and activities to make Fareham somewhere we can be proud of for generations to come. These meetings provide an opportunity for residents to find out what sort of ideas have emerged so far and what the next steps will be. I urge residents to come along and get involved.”
An update on the Town Centre regeneration will be presented to the Council’s Executive in March 2024.
