Business South Annual Conference 2019 to focus on sustainable growth
Eminent industry professionals will lead topical business discussions on sustainability, innovation, technology, regeneration and education
Taking place on Tuesday the 1st October, at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl near Southampton, the Business South Annual Conference 2019 will focus on the future for our region’s businesses and economy. The event will cover topical subjects including sustainable growth, green technologies and innovations, local regeneration, and education, all presented from a business perspective by industry experts and thought leaders.
Through inspirational presentations on current industry matters, and compelling panel discussion, the Business South Annual Conference brings together the Central South’s companies to inspire new ideas, share knowledge, and to encourage collaborative working to achieve future growth for businesses and the region.

Becky Coffin, Head of Sustainability at Heathrow Airport who will share how the busiest airport in Europe is planning sustainable growth through its strategy Heathrow 2.0.

Aldred Drummond, Chief Executive of Fawley Waterside, who will present the plans for Fawley Waterside, the innovative regeneration of part of our region’s industrial heritage into a thriving and sustainable community.
Joy Aloor, Head of Energy Business Advisory at Siemens, who will share his expertise in the energy industry and smart infrastructure sectors, and present a vision on the Smart Future and opportunities from clean growth, energy transition and digitalisation.
Mark Round, Client Technical Leader at IBM, who will provide IBM’s take on ‘The Future’ in relation to innovation and technology, and how we can apply technology solutions to solve real problems for the world we all share.
Rob Bryant, Contract Hire, Leasing & Rental Manager at Toyota, who will speak about future fuels and the environmental impact the increased use of electric, hybrid and hydro will have on the environment.
The Conference will also include an interactive panel session, discussing both the apprenticeship levy and connecting education with businesses to ensure organisations can access the skills they need to thrive. Taking part in the panel will be:

New to the Annual Conference, the Action Group Zone will provide an opportunity for delegates at the event to network and learn more about each group and their function.
