Terence O’Rourke Ltd rebrands as tor&co.
After 38 years in business award-winning planning, design and environmental consultants Terence O’Rourke has undergone a repositioning exercise to better reflect the future of the business.
Guided by the mission to ‘foster a lasting legacy, and create better outcomes for people and planet’, the new brand has been built from the existing culture and ethos of the team which is very much client and solution focused.
“We realised that the great team culture we have, the way we work or the direction we are heading was not reflected in our brand or how we expressed ourselves. That needed to change’ says Executive Chairman – Tim Hancock
Named after the original founder who departed the business in 2007, Terence O’Rourke Ltd has been operating under a new leadership team for the last sixteen years. The repositioning exercise highlighted an opportunity to take the big decision to change the brand name to tor&co.
“We have always been a business that puts people first, collaborating with colleagues, clients and communities is how we achieve such great outcomes. Our new name expresses that. It is not about an individual but more what we achieve when we work together as one team”. Managing Director – Jacqueline Mulliner
In 2021 tor&co became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). This decision was taken to retain our independence and ensure that the succession plan was based on merit, providing a sustainable future for the business, and ensuring the whole team have an interest in our collective success.
“The EOT is indicative of our people-first approach and our resolve to continue to attract the best talent with a diverse skill set and ability to deliver remarkable, future- focused solutions.” Managing Director – Jacqueline Mulliner
The brand’s new look and feel updates its expression to reflect a business that prides itself on thinking creatively about every challenge and every detail, and one that has the energy and the experience to find clarity in complexity.
