Portsmouth City Council is inviting local businesses to give their views on Portsmouth’s Clean Air Zone.
Like other cities in the UK, Portsmouth is required by the government to introduce a charging Clean Air Zone (CAZ) to improve air quality and reduce further risk to people’s health.
The government has approved the council’s plans for a charging Class B CAZ. The oldest, most polluting buses, coaches, HGVs, taxis and private hire vehicles would pay a daily charge to drive in the zone. Currently vans (LGVs) are not included, but this could change. To find out more click here.
Your feedback will help inform specific aspects of the zone design, including the proposed charges, zone operating times, vehicle exclusions and support packages for those most affected.
