Savills employees are taking part in a 1,300 mile virtual fundraiser challenge for City Catering Southampton.
Members of staff from Savills Southampton office’s planning, urban design, development, residential development sales, building & project consultancy, commercial and licensed leisure teams set themselves a target to walk, run and cycle more than 1,300 miles throughout March.
The virtual route incorporates a number of sites Savills has been involved with across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Cornwall, Somerset, Sussex, Berkshire, Surrey and the West Midlands.
The team is hoping to raise £1 for every mile they travel, for City Catering’s Walk for Food Insecurity Awareness campaign. The charity provides nutritious meals to schools as well as vulnerable and elderly adults across the city.
Gavin Hall, head of office at Savills Southampton, said: “We are pleased to be able to support City Catering who do such important work in the local community providing children and vulnerable adults with delicious and nutritious meals. We have already covered more than 1,600 miles and look forward to raising as much money as possible for such a worthwhile cause.”
Rachel Hall, CEO of City Catering said: “We are delighted that Savills will be supporting our Walk for Food Insecurity Awareness campaign. The funds that all the Savills staff raise will go a long way to helping us respond to the ongoing Covid-19 challenges and continue providing nutritious meals to schools as well as vulnerable and elderly adults across Southampton.”
