Fareham Borough Council’s Executive Committee is pleased to announce that it has established a framework of training providers to offer free support to businesses operating in the Borough.
This programme has been fully funded using Government Covid-19 grants and will cover a number of topics, such as:
- General business advice
- Scaling up (business growth)
- Diversification
- Digital support (such as creating a website, creating a click and collect process, or marketing via social media)
Businesses can take part through a range of learning tools such as webinars, face to face events (subject to Covid-19 restrictions) or one-to-one support, either as a one-off or over a period of time.
To be eligible, businesses must be based in and have customers in the Borough. More information is available on the business pages of the Council’s website: http://www.fareham.gov.uk/business/businesssupport.aspx.
The Council will also be setting up a voucher scheme to help fund legal and financial advice with more information coming soon on the web pages above.
This scheme was funded as a result of Fareham Borough Council paying out 100% of its Additional Restrictions Grant funding totalling £3,357,164. As this was achieved before the deadline set by the Government the Council was able to apply for additional funding of £824,098 which will not only allow this programme to go forward, but enable the Council to consider further local discretionary grants schemes in the coming months.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward said: “This new training framework is just part of a wide range of support we have developed to help local businesses. The training is completely free so I encourage businesses to take full advantage of this support. It is specifically designed to help business owners future-proof their businesses and help them grow and diversify following the pandemic and well into the future.”
