BECG, the UK’s leading public affairs consultancy, has launched Your August – an enhanced employee benefits package that allows staff to work wherever and however they like over the summer holiday.
During August, the company has relaxed the requirement for employees to spend at least two days each week working from the office, allowing them to be based anywhere. Providing they can work effectively, staff can choose to be entirely home-based, could work from a friend or family member’s house, or extend holidays abroad with additional working days.
To supplement this flexibility and enable staff to extend their summer weekends, BECG is also gifting Friday afternoons in August as additional time off.
Amy McNeill, BECG’s Head of Group HR, said: “In our recent staff survey, our people told us that flexibility and time off are the benefits they value the most. In direct response to that feedback, we’ve created Your August – a package that allows employees to make the most of the summer and make work work for them.
“We know from our industry benchmarking that we already offer more time off than our closest competitors and now we’ve gone one step further by giving our staff additional flexibility. Our team work incredibly hard and we wanted to recognise that collective effort by giving something back to them. We have the infrastructure in place to enable us to work from anywhere and Your August is a reflection of the trust we have in our staff to deliver whatever’s needed but in a way that works for them and their families.”
Your August compliments BECG’s Work That Works model, an approach based on reciprocal trust and flexibility that encourages and supports agile working patterns. From avoiding commutes at the busiest times of day to working around school drop-off and pick-up, Work that Works puts BECG’s staff first and empowers them to make decisions about when and how they work.
Combined with time off gifted on their birthday and over the Christmas period, Your August results in BECG employees having more paid time off than their industry peers. Alongside other benefits including access to private healthcare, an electric vehicle leasing scheme – and not forgetting weekly deliveries of fresh fruit to each office – BECG now offers an industry-leading benefits package.
