North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance are pleased to launch an app called Tribe to support our local communities of Spelthorne and Woking boroughs. Tribe is a digital platform where residents can find out, through an app on their smart phone or on the website, what is going in their local area with activities, groups and events.
Jack Wagstaff, Place Leader / Chief Officer for North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance said: “We are very excited to have Tribe in North West Surrey. We have already been using it for our communities in Sheerwater and Goldsworth Park where it has been well received. We are one of the first integrated health and care organisations to have a tool like this and we expect it will make finding local activities, events and community groups much easier for local people to connect with one another as a community”.
Local organisations, groups and people with events can ‘on board’ details of such activities for all to see, with times, dates, venues, and contact details for things like:
- Health, Fitness and Sport Groups & Activities
- Parent and Toddler Groups
- Community Hubs and Advice Centres
- Youth activities
- Local Community Events
- Courses and training
Cllr Maureen Attewell, Chair of Community Wellbeing at Spelthorne Borough Council, said: “During the pandemic, Spelthorne displayed strength in our community and how we came together to support and care for one and another. This new digital platform will offer an opportunity for residents to connect with each other, reducing loneliness and ultimately improving the mental and physical wellbeing of residents.”
Cllr Ellen Nicholson, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Living Well, said: “I am delighted that the Tribe Support App can be introduced to the rest of Woking following the successful pilot in Goldsworth Park and Sheerwater communities.
“This new digital platform connects residents seeking support with their health and wellbeing to caring individuals within their community, whilst also making it easy to find local groups and activities all in the palm of your hand.
“Being connected with those in your local community is invaluable and helps to support positive wellbeing. I’d encourage all Woking residents to download the app and start browsing the range of fantastic community initiatives and support available.”
