We were honoured to have Alison Barnes, CEO of the New Forest National Park Authority, welcome our guests to the beautiful Chewton Glen Hotel for our immensely popular Champion Directors’ Dinner.
Alison is also a non-executive director for Business South and she explained how initiatives such as Green Halo had put a stake in the ground that we have steadily moved towards.
“With the Green Halo initiative we stated our aim to be seen as a world class environment and a world class economy,” she explained.
Being at the Directors Dinner gave Alison a palpable sense that businesses wanted to come together and collaborate on initiatives that would help to support the economy and sustain our environment.
“The quality of our place should dictate what we do – there is a great deal to be excited about.
“Quality sets us apart and if we harness it, Business South can help us to reflect that outward,” she said.
General Manage of the Chewton Glen, Clive McNish, explained how he had started his career at the prestigious hotel. Having gained experience at top hotels and resorts around the world, he had recently returned to head up the team taking the hotel forward to the next chapter.
“My job is about managing expectations and we are very excited about the future and what that will mean for generations to come,” he said.
Business South Group CEO, Leigh-Sara Timberlake, said: “We always enjoy bringing our Directors’ Dinner to the wonderful Chewton Glen hotel.
“We are so grateful to have Alison Barnes as a non-executive director on our board. What she has to say is always informative and we look forward to working with her on the green agenda for many years to come.”
