Fareham Borough Council is pleased to present the first update of its new Corporate Strategy.
The Corporate Strategy 2023-2029 was adopted in October 2023. It sets out the Council’s vision and priorities for the Borough, ensuring it remains a prosperous, attractive, and safe place to live and work.
The update is an opportunity to consider the progress made in delivering the Council’s corporate priorities during 2023-2024 and to highlight some of the key achievements over the past year as well as looking at new emerging projects.
Some of the key achievements over the last year include:
- Delivery of more affordable housing within the Borough with the completion of two three-bedroom affordable homes located at Queens Road, and a Sheltered Housing Scheme at Station Road, Portchester.
- The Council acquired Fareham Shopping Centre and adjoining properties to further support the regeneration of the town centre.
- Fareham’s new community, arts, and entertainment venue Fareham Live officially opened with industry experts, Trafalgar Theatres, as the venue operators.
- The first formal planning application was received to build houses at Welborne Garden Village, marking another step forward in the delivery of the Welborne plan.

Cllr Simon Martin, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council said: “The Corporate Strategy is an integral part of the Council’s Strategic Framework and reviewing this regularly is paramount in ensuring it reflects the local issues and changing priorities of our residents. The annual review has highlighted how much we have achieved as a Council already and the amazing work continuing across our Council services. Reviewing the Strategy, provides us with a clear vision of where we need to focus our attention over the coming year to ensure we continue to provide high quality, customer-focused services that deliver value for money.’’
