Business South held their final Director’s Dinner of the year at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and the event was sponsored by Champions, Surrey Heath Borough Council and Arena Business Centre Camberley.
This high-profile event took place on Wednesday 20th November 2019 in the newly refurbished Indian Army Memorial Room where guests were able to enjoy an evening of fantastic food and great networking.
Our distinguished guest speakers were, Lt Col Chris Boryer, representing the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, who told us about the history of the venue, the crucial role of Sandhurst in the British Military, his own career in the Army and the importance Sandhurst places on engagement with the local business community.
Local businessman John Fairley, in a session entitled Soldier, Sailor and Businessman, shared insights on his experiences from the military, elite sailing and most recently in business as Senior Partner at JFP Strategic Planning.
Suzanne Rankin, the CEO of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and who served for many years in the Royal Navy, outlined the range of challenges being currently faced by the NHS and how regional business leaders can support the vital work of our hospitals through employee well-being programmes; collaboration around innovation (in particular the advancement of digital health) and seeking out opportunities in the substantial NHS supply chains.
The evening concluded with a question and answer session between the audience and the speakers chaired by Business South Champion Director Andy Swift.
