Hampshire Fare is launching a new initiative as part of their ongoing #stayloyalstaylocal campaign.
Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager, explains: “If we all buy just one local gift or local treat for the Christmas table, it will make a massive difference. This not only helps local businesses to survive at this difficult time, it also supports our local communities and the local economy – both dependent on local businesses to flourish and thrive.”
You can visit your local independent retailers including farm shops, delis and village stores – who may stock local honey, preserves, ciders, gins and fizz as well as homemade chocolates, award-winning cheeses and trout pâté. You can also buy direct from producers. Don’t forget that many of Hampshire Fare’s hospitality members, including restaurants, pubs and hotels, offer gift vouchers. Browse the Hampshire Fare website for more inspriation.
As an incentive (if you need one), the first 50 people who buy a local treat or gift from one of Hampshire Fare’s members can claim a styish Hampshire Fare shopper (pictured above). To apply, simply send a photograph of your receipt to info@hampshirefare.co.uk.
Tracy adds: “November is usually a key month for our local businesses. So, with Christmas in mind, we’re asking you, please, don’t automatically click on a certain website (beginning with ‘A’), think local first!
“Our independent businesses need YOU! We are encouraging everyone to buy just one local gift to make a difference. Contact us (info@hampshirefare.co.uk) if you need suggestions for online ‘on-local’ or actual local shopping. And may your Christmas be a happy and local one.”
