Following the latest announcement by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, England has now been placed into national lockdown restrictions.
The single most important action we all need to take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives. You must not leave your home unless necessary and you must stay two metres apart from anyone not in your household or support bubble. Those who are clinically extremely vulnerable should avoid leaving home unless absolutely necessary.
National Lockdown restrictions also mean the following:
- You cannot leave your home to meet socially with anyone you do not live with or are not in a support bubble with.
- If you need to leave your home for essential activities, you must wear a face covering in any indoor setting, such as shops or places of worship where these remain open, and on public transport, unless you are exempt.
- You can only leave home for work purposes where it is unreasonable for you to do your job from home.
- Non-essential businesses must close. Only businesses and venues which are providing essential goods and services are permitted to stay open, following COVID-19 secure guidelines.
- Places of worship will remain open but you must not mingle with anyone outside of your household or support bubble and strict social distancing measures should be observed.
- Weddings, civil partnership ceremonies are permitted in exceptional circumstances with up to six people. Funerals are allowed to go ahead, attended by a maximum of 30 people.
- Indoor gyms and sports facilities will close as will outdoor sports venues, outdoor gym sites, tennis courts, golf courses and swimming pools. You may exercise outdoors on your own, with one other person, or with your household or support bubble.
