New Forest District Council’s (NFDC) Cabinet has agreed to allocate £1,018,365 of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding to a range of local projects that will make a real difference to communities across the district.
The approved projects will help improve essential facilities and services, ensuring that growth in the area is supported by the right infrastructure.
From enhancing community spaces, to upgrading transport links and improving local amenities, this investment reflects the NFDC’s commitment to creating vibrant, sustainable places for residents and visitors alike.
Councillor Derek Tipp, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economy, said: “It’s fantastic to be backing these projects through CIL funding. This decision means we can deliver improvements that truly matter to our communities, creating spaces that inspire pride, bring people together, and support a thriving future for the New Forest.”
CIL is a charge on new development that allows the NFDC to invest in infrastructure that benefits everyone.
Today’s decision ensures that funds collected are reinvested locally, supporting projects that meet the needs of growing communities
There will now be a seven-day period for all councillors to be able to review the Cabinet’s decision. During this time, the decision can be challenged. If no objections are made by councillors, organisations will be told the result of their bids. These outcome letters are expected to be sent on Monday 15 December. After receiving their letters, organisations can ask for feedback on their bids.
Details of the funded projects will be published on NFDC’s website, and work will begin in the coming months
