New Forest District Council’s (NFDC) latest social housing development has completed in Totton.
The newly built apartment block is situated close to Totton town centre on Salisbury Road and contains 20 homes for social rent.
Making use of previously developed land, the scheme marks another significant step in NFDC’s commitment to greener, lower-carbon living across the district by meeting the government’s Future Homes Standard as well the nationally described space standard.
All of the homes feature advanced insulation, high-performance glazing, and low-carbon heating and ventilation systems to maximise energy efficiency and comfort.
Richard Knott, Chief Operations Officer and Deputy Chief Executive at New Forest District Council said: “Delivered by NFDC with funding support from Homes England, the development demonstrates how modern, energy-efficient housing can help reduce residents’ energy bills while contributing to wider climate goals”.
The rented affordable council homes have been allocated to people on NFDC’s Homesearch housing register with new residents due to move in within a matter of days.
