Southampton-based international law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has been appointed to NHS Commercial Solutions’ legal services framework.
NHS Commercial Solutions is a not-for-profit procurement shared services hub that works to unlock efficiencies across the NHS and the wider public sector. Formed in 2007, it provides end to end services across the full procurement cycle and drives key value opportunities. WBD will provide a full-service expertise, advising on all matters covered by the framework including corporate, commercial, employment, property, health, primary care, mental health, NHS governance and public law issues. The framework will run for a four-year period, from 1 February 2023 to 31 January 2027.
WBD already acts for NHS Property Services and NHS Shared Business Services but it is the first time the firm has secured a spot on the newly streamlined Commercial Solutions panel, which was reduced to just 18 firms.
Deborah Ramshaw, partner and head of procurement at Womble Bond Dickinson, comments: “Following a competitive tender process, we’re pleased to join the NHS Commercial Services panel and we look forward to working with the framework to provide collaborative solutions and drive value.”
“This appointment strengthens our credentials in the public, health and social care sectors, highlighting our expertise in understanding the financial and regulatory pressures being placed on health and social care providers in the UK.”
WBD has a strong public sector practice, working closely with central and local government organisations including UK Government Departments, Agencies and other regulatory bodies. Highlights include being appointed to the Crown Commercial Services new Public Sector Legal Services framework and advising NHS Property Services on a successful Supreme Court appeal decision on a village green case.
