Invitation: Join us to act on employment & skills in the South East
COVID-19 has driven up unemployment and exacerbated inequalities in society – young people, women, low paid workers, older workers and black, Asian and minority ethnic groups have been hardest hit.
In response, we invite you to join Business in the Community’s South East Leadership Board from 2pm to 4pm on 24th March for an event to discuss the challenges faced in the South East and the action your business can take to support those most impacted by Covid-19.
We will be joined by senior representatives from the Department for Work and Pensions, Sovereign Housing, Verizon, Movement to Work, JTI, Southern Co-op and COOK, and will discuss opportunities to:
• Broaden horizons through mentoring and insights into career opportunities;
• Develop essential skills through work experience opportunities, with a focus on the Kickstart Scheme; and
• Create a level playing field through volunteering for one-on-one support and taking steps to remove recruitment barriers.
Together we can bridge the unemployment gap and make sure no one gets left behind. For more information, please contact our Senior Lead for the South East, Zoe Hill, on zoe.hill@bitc.org.uk
