Skills Bootcamps – Free training to retrain and upskill adults
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for adults aged 19 or over, primarily aimed at delivering training that is co-designed with employers to respond to skills shortages.
At its heart, Skills Bootcamps are designed to support adults to retrain and upskill in local priority sectors, ultimately supporting economic growth in the Solent.
2025 Solent Growth Hub Skills Bootcamps start dates:
• Marine Electrician: This part-time, hybrid course lasts for approximately 10/12 weeks and commences on 4 January
• NHS Support Worker, Southampton: This in-person, intensive two-week course commences on Monday 13 January and ends on 24 January
• Digital Marketing: This sixteen-week, part-time course commences on 16 January
• NHS Support Worker, Portsmouth: This in-person, intensive two-week course commences on Monday 24 February and ends on 7 March
• Business Skills for Creatives: This intensive two-week course commences on 20 January
• Care Services: This three-week, intensive course is entirely online and begins on 24 February and ends on 14 March
• Screen industries: This intensive two-week course commences on Monday 24 February and ends on 7 March.
