Following conversations with employers in the motor industry, it is clear that more needs to be more done to attract and retain skilled staff; to upskill the existing workforce to support and develop new technologies and to drive initiatives to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion among staff.
Surrey Chambers of Commerce and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce have partnered with The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) to create this skills summit, sponsored by LKQ Corporation, and as part of the LSIP Project for Surrey & Mid North Hampshire.
The Agenda will include:

- How do we attract and retain skilled staff? – Facilitated by a representative from Basingstoke College of Technology
- How do we attract future talent? – Facilitated by representatives from EM3 and Surrey Careers Hubs
- How do we widen our pool of talent, inclusively? – Facilitated by representatives from Hampshire County Council and Surrey Choices
- Where is the motor industry going and what is LKQ doing to support along the journey? – Facilitated by a representative from LKQ Euro Car Parts
