Over the past few months our local authority Champions right across the Business South Region have been at the heart of the Covid-19 response.
They have led the local efforts with business leaders and where possible have distributed grants that have provided much needed relief to the building financial pressures. Our councils have also led work with the homeless and supporting the shielded community.
We are pleased to be working with many Council leaders and Economic Development Officers as they construct plans to support both an increasing number of start-up businesses and existing businesses who are having to come to terms with the financial downturn. Business South and Enterprise South have an established range of solutions ready to be delivered in partnership with councils to support start-ups, existing businesses and those recently made redundant (expressing an interest in entrepreneurship). Through our Champion Programme we continue to assist our local authorities with improving their engagement which is now even more important for gathering insights and helping shape activity towards a fast recovery.
