We are proud to announce that Kevin Barnett has been appointed as a full-time Employment Judge of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) from 10 September 2026. He will be assigned to the Midlands West Region.
This is a fantastic reflection of Kevin’s exceptional knowledge of employment law and years of experience advising on all matters, employment related.
Kevin has over 30 years working in the law for a diverse range of employers including both small and large private firms and local authorities. He leaves an outstanding, growing team of employment, HR and business immigration lawyers which will be led by fellow partner Edward O’Brien. It is a transformative time for employment law with the introduction of the Employment Rights Act 2025, the Fair Work Agency launch, and changes to tribunal time limits amongst many other new developments, and the team is excited to continue Kevin’s legacy.
Kevin says, “I am looking forward to this next important step in my career and am confident that I am leaving the employment team in Edward’s very capable hands. He has instigated many new client initiatives, particularly in the care sector, benefitting all of the clients we work with. I know that this will continue.”
Chair, Grant Esterhuizen says, “This is a great opportunity for Kevin’s career, and we thank him for his significant contribution to Lester Aldridge over the past decade. He has a wealth and depth of experience in advising clients in all aspects of employment law including employment tribunals. He will be greatly missed but we wish him all the best in his next venture.”
