Savills Urban Design Studio in Southampton has welcomed landscape architect Richard Alldread.
The Studio now has 20 team members based across offices in Southampton, London, Oxford and Ireland.
Richard joining the team as an associate landscape architect is one of three recent hires for the wider team, including Leah George, who has joined the team in Oxford as a graduate urban designer, and Faye Coddington, who has joined as team administrator, based in the firm’s Margaret Street office in London.
Richard previously worked at ONE Environments and prior to that, at Ubu Design based in Winchester. He has a BA (Hons) in landscape architecture and has been a chartered landscape architect for more than 20 years.
Richard says: “I am excited to join Savills and am looking forward to contributing to the collaborative approach across teams and disciplines. The Urban Design Studio has a strong track record and I feel that I can bring a range of complementary skills and experience, particularly in relation to detail design.
“The role also offers opportunities to work on some exciting projects where landscape can play a crucial role and bring tangible benefits to development proposals through the provision of access to nature and quality green spaces.”
Ruth Bishop, landscape/urban design director within Savills Urban Design Studio based in Southampton, adds: “It is great to have Richard join us. His skills and experience will help with our increasing workload of landscape-led masterplanning, green infrastructure design and landscape and visual assessment work, as well as enabling us to offer our clients a greater diversity of detailed planting design outputs.”
