Communications consultancy Cavendish has opened an office in Leeds city centre following a period of major growth in its work across the North.
The strategic move reinforces the firm’s leading position and strengthens its presence as it looks to embrace new opportunities across Yorkshire, Humber and the North East.
Based in the heart of fast-growing business district, Wellington Place, Cavendish’s new office unites team members with expertise in planning, energy, infrastructure and media relations.
It is Cavendish’s 12th office across the UK and Ireland and follows a period of immense growth in projects across the Yorkshire and North East region.
Recent successes include securing approval for BAM’s 12-storey Latitude Yellow in Leeds and supporting major projects for National Grid, RWE, Calderdale Wind Farm Limited and McCarthy Stone.
Key members of the Leeds team include Keane Duncan, who recently joined Cavendish as Associate Director (Planning), and Olivia White, Director (Energy and Infrastructure).
Keane said: “We’re delighted to be here in Leeds, a bustling city at the forefront of devolution, growth and investment.
“Our latest office opening follows a period of sustained expansion in Cavendish’s work across the Yorkshire and the North East.
“The opening gives us a fixed presence that demonstrates our commitment to the region and all that it has to offer.
“The move will be key to building on our recent successes and deepening the relationships with our clients that are so important and valued.
“We know this region’s bold ambitions and immense potential, and with our strengthened offer we’re ready to pursue new opportunities here and achieve even more.”
Olivia said: “From the challenge of decarbonising the industry-rich area to providing much needed new public transport links, Yorkshire and the North East is at the forefront of energy and infrastructure investment.
“Whilst a significant economic opportunity, developers need to understand the nuances of the local communities they are working in.
“As a communications consultancy, it’s important for us to have a team with in-depth understanding of the region, its players and the public.
“Only through this on-the-ground insight can we tailor our delivery and offer the best to our clients. These are exciting times for the region, and I look forward to being part of them.”
Keane combines experience from the worlds of politics and journalism, having worked in editor-level positions at major media titles within the UK’s largest publisher, as a district council leader and cabinet member for highways.
Olivia specialises in energy and infrastructure, particularly in nationally significant infrastructure projects. She is currently working in the region on solar, carbon capture, electricity distribution and highways projects.
