Today we celebrate all our young people in the city receiving their A Level results.
The results for Southampton’s colleges and sixth forms for this year are as follows:
Clodagh Freeston, Head of Education Services said: “Congratulations to all students receiving their A Level results today. We recognise the hard work and determination that has brought you to this important milestone. This year’s results are broadly in line with last year with a slight increase in the percentage of students achieving an A* or A grade. We encourage all students to visit the Southampton City Council website to explore the range of options available as you plan your next steps. Congratulations again, and best wishes for your future.” Councillor Amanda Barnes-Andrews, Cabinet Member for Children and Learning said: “As a parent I know that awaiting exam results is a nerve-wracking experience. I hope every young person opening an envelope this morning gets the results they hoped for and can be excited about the next steps, be these in education or work. For those whose results were not as predicted, there are a range of options available to explore. We have a fantastic Post 16 Options team who can discuss next steps with you.” Visit the Southampton City Council website and search ‘A Level and GCSE results day’ for more details on the range of support on offer, including useful links to help with university clearing, apprenticeships and employment. The National Careers Service also provides support for students, parents and families after results day. Whether the results were better than expected or not, a qualified careers adviser is on hand to give you advice around the options available, call 0800 100 900. |
