The letting of the second floor marks a pivotal moment in the restoration and repositioning of Bobby’s, with Trethowans taking the final remaining floor available within the building. The move represents a significant milestone in the building’s regeneration journey and underlines growing confidence in Bournemouth town centre as a vibrant commercial destination.
For Trethowans, the space on the 2nd floor of Bobby’s provides substantially greater capacity than its existing premises and reflects a long-term strategic commitment to Dorset.
Opening in early summer, the expanded office will enable the firm to grow its team, broaden its services across the region, and further strengthen its position in the local market. As part of this commitment, the firm will be actively recruiting to support continued expansion in Bournemouth and across Dorset.
Dorset remains a key region for Trethowans, and the decision to remain in the town centre was deliberate. While opportunities to relocate outside the centre were available, the firm chose to stay at the heart of Bournemouth, aligning with its support for local regeneration efforts and its confidence in the town’s continued success.
Quote from Mike Watson, Managing Partner at Trethowans
“Securing a permanent home in the centre of Bournemouth reflects our absolute commitment to the Dorset market and our support of the regeneration of Bournemouth’s town centre. This new space gives our people a modern, collaborative environment to thrive in, and it creates the capacity we need to keep growing our team here. Bournemouth has become a key part of our firm’s success, and this move marks a significant step in expanding the talent, capability and presence we are building in Dorset. It is also an opportunity to deepen the culture that defines Trethowans: supportive, ambitious, and grounded in doing the right thing for our clients, our colleagues and the community we are part of.
The new office has been designed to provide a modern, collaborative environment for staff, clients and regional stakeholders. Beyond the firm itself, the move signals a broader positive impact for the town centre. The growing presence of professional services firms is strengthening Bournemouth’s reputation as a dynamic commercial hub, with the legal sector in particular gaining momentum. Bournemouth is increasingly recognised as a centre of legal excellence within the region, and Trethowans’ expanded presence contributes to that rising profile.
The relocation represents a reaffirmation of the commitment Trethowans made to Bournemouth a decade ago, now significantly strengthened through securing a permanent and high-profile home at Bobby’s.
Andy Birt Director at Bobby’s adds “We are delighted to welcome Trethowans to Bobby’s. Securing the final available floor with a firm of Trethowans’ calibre is a significant moment for the building and for the wider regeneration of Bournemouth town centre.
Adding Trethowans to our tenant mix strengthens the community we are building at Bobby’s and contributes positively to the continued growth of the legal sector across Dorset. Bournemouth is fast establishing itself as a real hub for legal expertise, and we are proud that Bobby’s is now playing a part in supporting that momentum”
