Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s WILDER 2030, plans for nature’s recovery in the two counties.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has launched a new ten-year plan to create a wilder Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The aim, as set out in WILDER 2030, is for the space for wildlife to be trebled and for local people and businesses to be supported and encouraged to take individual and collective action in support of nature.
Business support organisation Business South has welcomed the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust to their Business Champions Programme and supports their new WILDER 2030 strategy.
As the leading nature conservation charity in the two counties, the Trust protects local wildlife and inspires people to love nature.
The Trust is urging all parliamentary candidates to put nature first and commit to tackling the climate and ecological emergency, should they be elected later this month. They are asking candidates to pledge to: Prioritise natural climate solutions, Back an ambitious Environment Act, Help farmers to help nature, Revive our marine environment through a network of Highly Protected Marine Areas and a new Marine Strategy and Support the Trust’s new ten year plan WILDER 2030.
“Nature’s recovery needs to be at the forefront of tackling the climate crisis and that needs to start at the local level” says Debbie Tann CEO at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. “We are looking for pioneers and partners to help us to create a much wilder Hampshire and Isle of Wight. We would like to work with individuals and businesses who share our passion for the beautiful natural environments we have here in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. There are many ways in which businesses can get involved, from our Wildlife Investor Scheme to more bespoke relationships.”
