England’s greatest sporting estate is home to three of the biggest sporting events in the world: the Festival of Speed, the Qatar Goodwood Festival and the Goodwood Revival.

The Festival of Speed celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018 and is the estate’s biggest event attracting 200,000 people over the four-day weekend. The first Festival, in June 1993, redefined what a car event could be, and, in the years since, it has firmly established itself as the world’s greatest celebration of motorsport and car culture.

Goodwood Revival
A magical step back in time.

The Revival celebrated its 20 year anniversary in 2018. Opened by the current Duke of Richmond in 1998, it is the only historic race meeting in the world that is staged entirely in period theme. It is as much about recreating the fashion and culture of the post-war years as it is about historic race cars.

The Qatar Goodwood Festival is a charming summer garden party that has become a much-loved fixture in the British social season. The Racecourse is renowned for being the most beautiful in the country and plays host to a thrilling week of racing, with some of the world’s greatest horses doing battle in front of the packed grandstands.

Dogs have been at the heart of life on the Goodwood Estate for over three hundred years and will forever be part of the family. We’ve created Goodwoof to share our love of all things dog and celebrate our canine companions in spectacular style.

Throughout the year at Goodwood

Both the Racecourse and the Motor Circuit are busy all year round, with 19 days of horse racing from May to October and various track days and driving experiences at the circuit open to all.

Within the Motor Circuit is Goodwood Aerodrome, a historic airfield that was used extensively during WWII when it was known as RAF Westhampnett. Several historic aircraft continue to be housed at the Aerodrome, including two Spitfires and a Harvard.

Goodwood’s 12,000 acre estate is home to a 91 room hotel and a 18th century clubhouse that once housed the Duke of Richmond’s hunting hounds. The most recent addition to the estate is Hound Lodge, a luxurious 10-bedroom country retreat with its own butler and private chef.

At the heart of it all sits Goodwood House, set in picturesque parkland and home to the Duke and his family.

Goodwood is unique in being able to control every aspect of its produce, from the fields where cattle, sheep and pigs graze to the in-house butchery and eventually to the kitchen – where the dishes are created.

It is this unique farm-to-table food journey that inspired Farmer, Butcher, Chef, a sustainable restaurant that showcases lesser-known cuts of meat from the farm’s selection of award-winning beef, pork and lamb.

Home Farm also produces 21,000 litres of milk a week, used to make three cheeses (Charlton Cheddar, Molecomb Blue and Levin Down) and sold to independent shops in London and the South East. The herd of 200 milking cows are part-Shorthorns, a breed which originated in the 16th century, the best milking cow of its time.

Meanwhile, The Kennels, Goodwood’s private members’ club, houses a restaurant that also celebrates Goodwood produce.
