Savills South Coast Development team has welcomed new senior surveyor Charles Byrne to the team.
Charles, who is based between the firm’s Southampton and Wimborne offices, has worked in the property industry across the south west for four years.
Most recently, he worked for Places For People for two years as an assistant development manager, helping to purchase land for self-delivering sites, completed S106 and additionality homes from other developers.
Prior to that, he worked for a regional firm of surveyors in the south west as a farm agent selling and valuing farms and land, as well as working in farming himself during Covid before making a return to the property industry.
Charles has lived in Hampshire since 2023, having grown up in Cornwall, aside from while he studied BSc (Hons) Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, graduating in 2019.
He says: “I am very pleased to have joined the firm, working across the south coast region, and I am looking forward to implementing past experiences and skills from previous roles in rural surveying with the lived experience of farming and large scale housing development to offer the best service to our clients.”
Jonny Kiddle, head of Savills South Coast Development team, adds: “We’re delighted to have Charles join the team at a time where there’s so much focus on the delivery of new housing in England. Charles has great experience from his previous roles in the industry and we’re looking forward to seeing him thrive at Savills.”
