British Marine has strengthened its Board with the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors and welcomed Lyndsay McClay as its new President.
Mandy Boughton and Chris Manners joined the Board on 16 July, bringing extensive experience across membership engagement, governance, commercial development and the leisure marine industry.
Southampton-based Mandy is an independent business consultant and President of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce. Her 25-year marine career includes senior roles with Ocean Safety, Oyster Yachts and Ancasta Yacht Services, where she was Managing Director.
Chris brings almost four decades of marine industry experience. He founded TBS Boats in 1997 and developed the company into a successful multi-site operation offering brokerage services and representing several leading boat brands. He has also served on a number of British Marine committees and previously joined its Board in 2018.
They join British Marine as Lyndsay McClay begins her term as President. Lyndsay, who has worked within the marine industry since 2015, previously served for two years as President-Elect and brings considerable experience in marine media, communications and commercial development.
The appointments strengthen British Marine’s leadership at an important time for the industry and reinforce its focus on delivering greater value for members, supporting business growth and championing the UK leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine sectors.
Showcase your business
Attention is now turning to the Southampton International Boat Show, which returns to Mayflower Park from 18–27 September 2026. Bringing together hundreds of marine brands and more than 90,000 visitors, the event is a major showcase for the region and an important driver of business, tourism and economic activity.
A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available, offering businesses the chance to raise their profile, engage with an affluent audience and create bespoke brand activations at one of the UK’s leading marine events.
Businesses interested in exploring the remaining opportunities should contact British Marine’s Senior Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager, Caroline Palmer, at cpalmer@britishmarine.co.uk
