Trethowans has proudly raised more than £2,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace Hospice following a fantastic team effort at this year’s ABP Southampton Marathon event, which took place on Sunday 3 May.
Colleagues across Trethowans laced up their running shoes to take part in a variety of race distances. Taking on the full marathon challenge were Harlen Hunte and Jack Homan, while Richard Thomas, Emma Naylor and Grace McGarry completed the half marathon. In the 10k race, Kelvin Farmaner, Kirsty Hughes and April Denver represented the firm, and Kate Ellis, Jess Head, Jack Ellis and Nicole Farmaner took part in the 5k.
Donations on the team’s JustGiving page totalled £1,221, a figure that will be matched by Trethowans (up to £1,000), bringing the overall fundraising total to over £2,200.
Naomi House & Jacksplace provides expert hospice care to children and young adults with life-limiting conditions, as well as vital support for their families across the region.
The team demonstrated incredible dedication and team spirit, proudly representing the firm while raising money for a cause close to many hearts.
Kirsty Hughes, Marketing Manager at Trethowans said: “We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part in the ABP Southampton Marathon. I really enjoyed the 10k event, the atmosphere was amazing, and it was so motivating to see the incredible support out on the course. I was proud to be wearing my Naomi House t-shirt, knowing the difference we were helping to make. A real highlight was running through St Mary’s Stadium. Thank you to everyone who supported and donated.”
Lynda Crook, Senior Fundraiser (Corporate Partnerships), at Naomi House & Jacksplace, added: “Thank you so much to everyone at Trethowans for taking on this incredible challenge in support of Naomi and Jack’s. To see you not only reach but exceed your fundraising target is truly inspiring. Raising over £1,100 initially is an amazing achievement, and with match funding from Trethowans meaning over £2,000 raised in total, the impact is even greater. That amount could fund 16 hydrotherapy sessions, making a real difference to the physical and emotional well-being of our children and young adults, enabling some families to swim together for the very first time. These are such special moments and memories for the families in our care. Thank you Trethowans for your continued support!”
