A new business support programme has launched to help small and micro businesses across the New Forest unlock their growth potential.
The New Forest business growth initiative, delivered by Digital Island Business Services Ltd on behalf of New Forest District Council (NFDC), is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It will support to at least 20 local businesses over the next 12 months by offering one-to-one mentoring, workshops, funding advice, and networking opportunities.
Cllr Derek Tipp, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economy at New Forest District Council, said: “This support package is about giving small businesses the tools and confidence to grow. By investing in tailored support and creating space for collaboration, we’re helping local entrepreneurs turn ambition into action—and strengthening the New Forest’s economy for the long term.”
The project will run until August 2026 and focuses on creating lasting impact through peer-to-peer networks, enabling participants to continue sharing knowledge and support. These connections aim to foster collaboration and sustained growth well into the future.
Gavin McWhirter, Programme Director at Digital Island Business Services Ltd, added: “We’re excited to get started and work with ambitious business owners across the New Forest, providing impactful, hands-on support. This Council funded service is a brilliant opportunity for growth focused businesses that want to scale sustainably and confidently.”
The programme is open now to expressions of interest from New Forest businesses.
