New Forest District Council (NFDC) is inviting residents and local organisations to give feedback on their new domestic abuse strategy.
Priorities for the domestic abuse strategy include raising awareness and pathways for victims-survivors to get the right support, domestic abuse awareness training for all NFDC staff, providing housing support, and multi-agency working.
People are invited to let NFDC know their thoughts about the strategy, and how best to address domestic abuse in the New Forest.
The consultation runs until 10 August 2025 at https://www.newforest.gov.uk/article/4057/Domestic-abuse-strategy-2025-to-2028-consultation
Cllr Dan Poole, Portfolio Holder for Community, Safety and Wellbeing, said: “It’s important we obtain the views of residents and stakeholders on the proposed priorities in tackling domestic abuse and supporting victims-survivors. We’re also interested in receiving your suggestions for improvements or additions that will ensure our services meet the needs of our residents affected by domestic abuse.”
NFDC’s strategy builds on the work already undertaken in the district through effective partnership working, including New Forest Domestic Abuse Forum and the Hampshire Domestic Abuse Partnership.
Support is available from the Hampshire Domestic Abuse Partnership if you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic abuse. Help is also available if you are finding it difficult to control your emotions and behaviour.
